Established by prime ministerial decree on March 12, 1996, our sanctuary spans 66,220 hectares and is dedicated to the protection of large mammals, rare plant species, and a myriad of bird species. Banyang-Mbo Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the South West Region of Cameroon, between Kupe-Muanenguba and Manyu Divisions. It spans parts of Nguti, Bangem and Upper Banyang subdivisions, with the sanctuary headquarters located in Nguti.
Banyang-Mbo Wildlife Sanctuary was created on 12 March 1996 by Prime Ministerial Decree. It was established to conserve biodiversity and promote eco-tourism.
The sanctuary covers a surface area of approximately 64,220 hectares.
